We believe stable housing is the foundation for growth and development. Until a home base is secured very little progress can be made in rejoining society. Sober living should be based in a supportive home setting. The residents should feel no pressure to leave. Moving is a major life event and can undermine progress gained in early recovery.
Halfway houses generally resemble a laxer treatment center or rehab and can feel like a punishment to the residents. Most people in halfway housing are halfway to leaving and can’t wait to get it over with. The paradigm is having a graduation or deadline to leave and assuming completing recommendations is success. The success of our program is measured by the achievement of our client’s personal goals.
